How to Migrate OST Data to a New Outlook Profile - jackdanial - 06-05-2026
If you want to move OST data to a new Outlook profile, first create a new Outlook profile and add your email account. If the account is still active, Outlook will automatically download your mailbox data from the server.
However, if the OST file is orphaned (not connected to the original account), Outlook cannot open it directly. In that case, you need to convert the OST file to PST format using a reliable OST to PST converter. Once converted, follow these steps:
- Open Outlook and create a new profile from Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Add.
- Configure your email account in the new profile.
- Open Outlook with the new profile.
- Go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
- Select Import from another program or file and choose the PST file.
- Complete the import process.
After the import is finished, your emails, contacts, calendars, and other mailbox items will be available in the new Outlook profile.
