I came back from a long weekend trip and found my AC is not as cold as before, and now I am not sure what to do. I have a 2016 Jaguar F-Type and I drive it to work and sometimes on short trips with friends. Before the trip the AC was fine. After we sat in traffic for an hour on the way home, the air became only a little cool, and it has stayed like that for three days. My friend says it only needs a gas refill and it will take ten minutes. My brother says if the gas is low then there must be a leak, and I should not just keep filling it. I did not want to guess, so one night I read about it online. I opened a page about Jaguar cars on a Sharjah website to learn how the gas, the pipes and the pressure work together. It said a refill can fix a weak AC for a while, but if the gas goes down again, the leak should be found first. That made sense to me. Then a coworker told me to look for a Quick Jaguar AC gas refill in Sharjah and to ask the garage to show me the gauge readings before and after. He said quick is fine, but only if they check the pressure and do not just add gas and send me away. I liked that advice because I never saw a gauge the last time I did this on an old car. So I have some questions. Is a weak AC after a long drive usually low gas, or can it be something else like a fan? Should I ask for a leak test when I go for the refill, or only if it gets weak again? How long does a proper refill with a check take, and is it okay to wait at the garage? And what is a fair price, so I know if someone is charging too much? If you had the same thing on your Jaguar, please tell me what you did and how long the cold air lasted. Thanks a lot.
