I moved to Hope about six months ago, thinking it would be easier to find a place than in the bigger cities. It’s definitely more affordable, but I was surprised by how limited the rental options are. A lot of listings disappear fast, and some places need serious maintenance. For those who’ve been here longer, what should newcomers keep in mind before signing a lease or buying property? Anything that’s easy to overlook at first?

I’ve noticed a lot of folks moving here for the quieter lifestyle, and it’s slowly driving up demand for homes. The good part is that many neighborhoods still feel relaxed and community-driven, unlike the busier cities nearby. Just takes a bit of patience to find the right fit, especially if you want something close to nature but still within walking distance of shops and cafés.
