Is Banocide Forte Safe for Long-Term Use?
#1
Banocide Forte, containing Diethylcarbamazine Over The CounteĀ  (DEC), is primarily used for short to medium-term treatment of filarial infections, such as lymphatic filariasis and loiasis. While effective, its long-term use should be approached cautiously and only under medical supervision. Prolonged use may lead to side effects like nausea, dizziness, headache, or allergic reactions due to parasite die-off. Rarely, it can affect liver or kidney function. Routine monitoring is essential during extended therapy. Although generally safe when prescribed appropriately, long-term use of Banocide Forte should always be guided by a healthcare provider to minimize risks and ensure effective treatment.
