Banocide Forte, containing Diethylcarbamazine Over The Counte  (DEC), is primarily used for short to medium-term treatment of filarial infections, such as lymphatic filariasis and loiasis. While effective, its long-term use should be approached cautiously and only under medical supervision. Prolonged use may lead to side effects like nausea, dizziness, headache, or allergic reactions due to parasite die-off. Rarely, it can affect liver or kidney function. Routine monitoring is essential during extended therapy.
