Helping my sister prep for her nursing interview
#1
Hey folks, I am a software dev and my sister just graduated nursing school and landed her first big interview. She is super nervous and I want to help her prepare, but I know absolutely nothing about the medical world, I just build websites all day. Anyone got tips on where to find solid prep stuff I can send her way?

It is cool that you are stepping up, and honestly you do not need a medical background to help her practice, just being someone who asks the questions out loud while she answers is already a huge help. For the actual content she needs to review, there is a solid breakdown of common interview scenarios and what hiring managers are looking for, you can find it here https://roundlyhq.com/blog/new-grad-rn-i...questions/ . The questions usually focus on how she handles stress, works with difficult patients, and fits into a team, so running through those out loud a few times builds way more confidence than just reading them in her head.

Tell her to prepare a couple of her own questions to ask at the end, something about the unit culture or mentorship shows genuine interest, and finishing strong leaves a much better impression than a nervous goodbye.
