To convert Mac Outlook OLM to PST, there are two methods: manual or direct conversion.
Manual Method
If you want to use the manual approach, the process involves several steps:
1. Open Outlook for Mac and export the mailbox data as an OLM file.
2. Move the OLM file to a Windows computer.
3. Set up Outlook on the Windows system.
4. Import the OLM data using an intermediate email client or supported migration method.
5. Move the imported emails and folders into Outlook.
6. Organize the mailbox data and export it as a PST file.
7. Open the PST in Outlook for Windows and verify the converted data.
The limitation is that this method requires access to both Mac and Windows systems and involves multiple intermediate steps. It can become difficult when the OLM contains a large number of emails, folders, attachments, contacts, or calendars.
Direct OLM to PST Method
To avoid these additional steps, use a direct OLM to PST conversion with a standalone tool such as GainTools OLM to PST Converter. This software allows you to quickly add a small or large OLM file, preview the mailbox data, select the required folders, and export them directly to PST without any data loss.
After conversion, open the PST in Outlook for Windows and check a few emails, attachments, contacts, calendars and folders to make sure the required data has been transferred correctly.
